Mindfulness, also called insight meditation, is the cultivation of a clear knowing, non-judgmental awareness of the mind-body. Mindfulness naturally leads to levels of calm and serenity (stress reduction) and insight (understanding, wisdom). These meditative techniques are drawn from the original teachings of the Buddha but are universal and non-sectarian. Everyone is welcome!
An important part of mindfulness training is cultivating a seamless and continous mindful-awareness. The containor where most mindfulness practitioners learn to extend this shift of consciousness to a continous wholesome state of mindfulness is while on retreat. The optional half day retreat for those attending the Autumn 4 Week Mindfulness Course will take place on Saturday, August 12 from 9 am to 1 pm.
